Purpose: Create the ability to save documents to your computer instead of printing them and then scanning them back in to be able to save them.
Overview: While this says it is a “Print” all over it, we’re not actually going to print. The process goes through all of the same steps as printing a document, except instead of a document coming out of your printer, it will create a PDF on your computer for you to be able to save to a desired location.
1. Go to “Settings”
2. Go to “Devices”
3. Select “Microsoft Print to PDF” and click “Next”. (If this is not an option, please contact Mari Tautimes at 602-955-5390 ext. 294 and she will try to trouble shoot you through the manual print driver process)
4. It will prompt you to name the feature. We recommend leaving it as the default name. Click “Next” and it will install the feature.
Print to PDF will now be an option on your printer options. When you want to save a digital document to file, you simply press “Ctrl” + “P” and it will ask you which printer you want to print to. Select “Print to PDF” and it will turn the document into a PDF and then ask you where you want to save it. It won’t actually print the document.
