Adding State Appointments
To add a state appointment, please send your license(s) to Contracting@westernassetprotection.com and request that you be appointed in the desired state(s) for Humana. Western Asset Protection will forward your state license(s) to Humana for processing. State appointment processing usually takes 1-5 business days.
Contracting – Entity/Agency
You can have your personally produced commissions paid to an EIN if your entity is licensed with the department of insurance. You will need to contract your entity/agency first before appointing your commissions paid to it. Please email Support@westernassetprotection.com and ask that your entity/agency be contracted and for your individual commissions to be appointed to your entity/agency.
Contracting – Individual
If you would like to contract for Humana, please send an email to Support@westernassetprotection.com and request a Humana contracting link be sent to you. Western Asset Protection will send you the Humana contracting link with the subject line ‘Humana Contract Invitation’. Please follow the directions on the email and the contracting link. After Humana processes your online contract, Humana will send you your certification instructions within 1-4 business days. After you’ve completed your online certification, Humana will send you your activation notice within 1-3 business days.
If you are requesting to contract for Humana and would like your commissions paid to your entity/agency, please provide your entity/agency information when you email Support@westernassetprotection.com. Your entity/agency will need to be contracted too for commission purposes.
Hierarchy Transfer & Release Policy
Western Asset Protection Transfer & Release Policy
- Western Asset Protection will allow one hierarchy transfer per carrier per calendar year and we will not honor any requests placed from August 15 – December 15.
- Additionally, our free release policy is suspended each year from August 15 – December 15
- To facilitate a hierarchy transfer, please complete the Humana Agent to General Agency Assignment Form and send it back to Western Asset Protection along with your release letter from your current topline (agency at top of hierarchy). If you are not able to retrieve a release letter, still submit the Humana Agent to General Agency Assignment Form – the form will release you with in 90* days and will transfer you under Western Asset Protection’s hierarchy. *The 90 day transfer period may be effected by Humana’s ‘blackout period’ of which Humana will not process any releases or transfers and will be released after the ‘blackout period’ is done. The ‘blackout period’ usually runs during AEP season.
