Several carriers require Medicare agents to complete mandatory AHIP certification to be contracted to sell their Medicare products each year. Most agents are often waiting for the carriers to release a “discount” code each year when the test is released so they don’t have to pay the full price.
We are excited to share that if you are contracted through Western Asset Protection (WAP), agents can enjoy a $50 discount on AHIP’s Medicare basics + Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training!
Use the AHIP Discount Any Time of the Year
Medicare’s annual training and recertification requirements ensure that agents stay up to date with the latest rules and regulations. In addition to spending time completing the course, agents must pay for training. Western Asset Protection wants to help alleviate some of the financial burden, so we have partnered directly with AHIP to bring you a $50 discount.
Many carriers also offer discounts, but generally not until June. Our discount is available year-round.

- If you’re an existing agent and already certified, keep this discount in mind when it’s time to train for 2027. (2027 AHIP is typically accessible in June)
- If you’re an agency, use the discount as a recruiting perk when hiring new agents.
How to Claim Your Discount
The standard price is currently $175, so you’ll pay $125 when registering through WAP. Even with the discount, you can still purchase Continuing Education (CE) credits for an additional fee.
